LOCATION AND COMMUNITY

The Business and Technology Academy Charter School (BTACS) is located in Barrigada, Guam, on the former San Vicente School campus. Barrigada is a residential and suburban community, centrally located on the island and characterized by a mix of family neighborhoods and small businesses. The school serves a diverse socio-economic and ethnic population reflective of Guam’s multicultural identity, including CHamoru, Filipino, Micronesian, and other Pacific Islander communities.

GENERAL FAQ

No, BTACS is a tuition-free public charter school. There are no fees to attend.

Yes. Lunch is provided free of charge to all students every school day.

Yes. Our Student Store offers a variety of snacks, drinks, and school supplies available for purchase during break and lunch.

Yes. Bussing is provided by the Department of Public Works (DPW). Additionally, the school has vans to shuttle students to off-campus internships and field trips. However, space in these vans is limited.

Starting next academic year, BTACS will be launching our interscholastic sports program. More information will be provided as the year approaches.

BTACS is currently in the process of accreditation through the Accrediting Commission for Schools, Western Association of Schools and Colleges (ACS WASC).

We offer a wide array of clubs and enrichment opportunities, including leadership, creative arts, STEM, media, community service, and more. Our activities are designed to help students discover their passions and develop well-rounded skills.

Yes. BTACS is committed to providing off-island travel and learning opportunities. Select students will have the chance to travel to countries across the Asia-Pacific region to engage in cultural exchanges, academic events, and leadership experiences.

BTACS follows a trimester system, meaning the school year is divided into three terms. This allows students to explore a variety of subjects and experiences throughout the year.

We provide BTACS shirts, but there is no formal uniform policy. Students are simply expected to dress appropriately for a learning environment.

Students generally take three courses per term. In some cases, students may be approved to take a fourth course with permission from the Academic Director and Principal.

Yes. Every Friday, all students (except freshmen) participate in off-campus internships with local businesses and organizations. Freshmen remain on campus for workshops and guest speaker sessions to build foundational career and life skills.

Yes. BTACS has a dedicated Guidance Counselor who supports students with academic planning, college and career readiness, and social-emotional well-being.
